Weekly Word from the Pastor
![]() THE TRUTH SETS YOU FREE!
"And you shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free" John 8:32
God's truth never restricts you; it always sets you free! Are you discouraged? Is there a sense of bondage in a particular area of your life? A lack of victory over a certain sin? A harmful addiction? Is it possible that you do not understand a truth about God that can release you?
If you feel powerless to meet the challenges before you, take encouragement from the promise of Philippians 4:13: " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". If you are defeated by circumstance hold on to the truth of Romans 8:28 that God can work the most difficult situation into His good. If you are enslaved to a particular sin, work the truth of 1 John 1:9 into your life, which promises that if you confess your sin, God is faithful to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. All of these truths await the Holy Spirit's implementation into your life. It is one thing to know about the Truth. It is yet another thing to experience the truth of God being worked out in your life. God's truth will have no effect upon you unless you accept it and believe it. Perhaps you have already read and heard accounts of God working mightily in the lives of others? But have you allowed God to implement those truths into your life? What truth about God do you need to be experiencing in your life? Ask him to implement that truth into your life today! Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life-He Will set you free! "Experiencing God"

THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS I'm gonna make a wish for Christmas I'm gonna say a little prayer I'm gonna stop here for a moment-Before the moment disappears
City Streets and shopping malls I wish we could slow down and remember The meaning of it all Wherever you are, no matter how far Come back to the heart, the heart of Christmas Live while you can, cherish the moment The ones that you love, make sure they know it Don't miss it, the heart of Christmas Let's make it feel the way it used to Let's fine that wonder of a child You can see the magic all around you Come on, and open your eyes You can find it in the warm embrace of your family Or calling up a long lost friend You can even find it in the eyes of a stranger When you reach out with a helping hand Don't miss it, the heart of Christmas In the shadow of a steeple In a star that lights the way You will find HIM in a manger The heart of Christmas has a Name I'm gonna make a wish this Christmas I'm gonna say a little prayer Wherever you are, no matter how far Come back to the heart, the heart of Christmas Live while you can, and cherish the moment The ones that you love, make sure they know it Don't miss it, the heart of Christmas. 18 DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS-ARE YOU READY?
"BLESSED BE YOUR GLORIOUS NAME, WHICH IS EXALTED ABOVE ALL BLESSING AND PRAISE!" NEHEMIAH 9:5
"A CHILD IS BORN TO US! A SON IS GIVEN TO US! AND HE WILL BE OUR RULER. HE WILL BE CALLED, "WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, MIGHTY GOD, ETERNAL FATHER, PRINCE OF PEACE".ISAIAH 9:6
MORE THAN MERRY
Christmas is more than merely "merry." Christmas is MIGHTY! Love and Laughter, gifts and giving, trees and tinsel, holly and reindeer, carols and bells, pageantry and sweet music-all of it-has an inherent potential for mightiness.
The qualifying factor is the presence of the Holy Spirit. When He is present, all the accouterments of Christmas have a tender power that can bless, strengthen, heal, restore, and bring entry into God's broad blessing of salvation.
When He is absent, carols ring hollow. Greetings, wishes and smiles lie on the surface, like glitter glued on a flat card. Lights and decorations are only so much window dressing. But where the Holy Spirit is there is power.
So this Christmas I challenge you to lift up Jesus! For Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords-What a Mighty God we serve! Have a Merry and Mighty Christmas!!!
